Checking In With The Cubs Story posted on: 4/24/07 The LA City baseball team played Compton last Thursday but their Saturday game against the Tartars was rained out. It will be made up this Friday at Pote Field in Griffith Park. The Cubs are 2-31 overall and 1-16 in the South Coast Conference.

City 8 Compton College 13 The Cubs out-hit the Tartars 14-to-13, but it didn't translate into runs. Compton took a 3-1 lead after one inning but jumped their advantage with a huge five-run fourth inning. Compton led 11-5 after five innings. Eight Cub errors played well for Compton. Third baseman Jerry Rodriquez was 3-for4 at bat. Utility outfielder Martel London and second baseman Kyle Wilkerson each were 2-for-4. |
