Cubs Run At Irvine's Howard Brubaker Invitational Return to the Women's Cross Country Home Page (Oct. 6, 2006) - - The Lady Cub cross country team entered the challenging Howard Brubaker Invitational in Irvine last Fri., Oct. 6, short-handed but eager. Work commitments and injuries plagued coach Tyrus DeMinter’s runners so LA City could only enter three participants. LA City freshman Mayra Ivonne Lopez (Hollywood HS) led the Lady Cubs with 20th place and a time of 6:51 minutes. Top honors went to Orange Coast College sophomore Elda Hernandez with a time of 6.16 around the 5-kilometer circuit. LACC
