Getting The 2007 Season Started The Lady Cubs track & field season opened with the South Coast Conference Invitational at Pasadena City College on Feb. 16. The Lady Cubs finished fourth among a field that included Pasadena, LA Southwest, East LA, LA Trade Tech, and Compton. Notable performances were turned in by newcomers. Freshman Maritzela Barakat won the 800 meters with a time of 2:55.34 minutes. Fellow frosh Bjana Griffin finished 6th place in the 100 meter dash with a time of 17:13-seconds. Sophomore Alma Ramirez was 8th place in the 3,000 meter run at 12:57.21. |
