The Latest on the Lady Cubs Posted 3/5/07 The Lady Cubs started strong in the "All Comers Meet" held at Cal State-Northridge with a second place finish in the 400 meter relay. LA City's time of 58.9 seconds was scored by Ingrid Douglas, Leilani Adu, Yazmeen Townsend, and anchor Maritzela Barakat. The Women's 800 and 100 meters followed. Barakat ran a personal best of 2:45.7 minutes in the "800" while Douglas ran 15.8 seconds in the 100 meters. The Lady Cubs captured event honors in the 60 meter dash with Adu and Townsend clocking times of 7.9 seconds and 8.7 seconds, respectively. More mid-distance sprints followed with Barakat running a time of 69.9 seconds in the 400 meters. Adu sprinted in the 200 meters to a time of 28.8 seconds. The Lady Cubs concluded the meet with the Two Mile run. Alma Ramirez finished with a time of 14:35. |
